House Introduction Notice for 2157 HB, 2nd Special Session, OLYMPIA, WA    Randy Boss to our State Legislators, Dec. 12, 2011

We need reductions in the number of programs (I mean eliminating programs – not tweaking them around the edges) that are currently administered by the state and paid for out of the general fund. You know that these funds are taken through taxation on the labor of hard working people of Washington State. We have more revenue into the state this year than we had last year and the same is true for every year I can remember. WE DON’T HAVE A REVENUE PROBLEM – OUR REPRESENTATIVES IN OLYMPIA HAVE A SPENDING PROBLEM. Stop spending money you don’t have and then you won’t need to call an emergency session to tell us you have a budget shortfall. Simply reduce your budget (AS WE ALL HAVE HAD TO DO) and then send everyone home for Christmas……No one is safe while you guys are in session – as is evidenced by House Bill 2157 ... details!

Occupiers Plan Coordinated Port Shutdowns Stretching                                From Anchorage to San Diego -- December 12, 2011 by

(The Blaze/AP)- Anti-Wall Street protesters up and down the West Coast are joining an effort to blockade some of the nation’s busiest ports from Anchorage to San Diego.  Demonstrators were to gather to march on the Port of Oakland, which Occupy protesters successfully shut down in November. Marchers also descended on the sprawling port complex spanning Los Angeles and Long Beach as the work day begins. ... More

Obama Defends His Presidency on ‘60 Minutes’: ‘I Didn’t Overpromise’ December 11, 2011 by

With rivals to challenge him in 2012 berating his performance on a daily basis, President Barack Obama made the case for his re-election Sunday, arguing that it doesn’t matter who the Republicans nominate to run against him because the core philosophy of the GOP candidates is the same and will stand in sharp relief with his own.

“I didn’t overpromise. And I didn’t underestimate how tough this was going to be,” Obama told CBS’s Steve Kroft during a 60 Minutes interview

Chris Christie Tears Into Obama: ‘What the Hell Are We Paying You For?' November 29, 2011 at 8:20am by Jonathon M. Seidl

Chris Christie is well-known for his viral, tell-it-like-it-is clips. It’s part of the reason so many conservatives love him. And if they loved him before, they will likely fawn all over him again when they see his latest gem. During a press conference yesterday the New Jersey Gov. lashed out at Obama over the failure of the debt supercommittee: “What the hell are we paying you for?” ... More

Van Jones said Occupy Wall Street is going to be recruiting 2,000 candidates to run for office for "phase two" of the movement. (AP File Photo)

Van Jones offered a prediction Wednesday for those who have been watching the Occupy Wall Street movement: “You haven’t seen anything yet.”

The former Obama administration “green jobs czar” — an ardent supporter of the Occupy movement since its inception — said in an interview with CNN that the movement is ready to evolve into the areas of politics and policy-making, much like the Tea Party did in 2010. ... More

Will They?  By Anshel Pfeffer, November 18, 2011 7:00 AM

Israel and Iran are fighting a not-so-secret clandestine war. But Israel is likely to attack Iran’s nuclear program this spring, making it official.

Can They?

An Israeli strike against the Iranian nuclear program would be tougher today than a few years ago, but it would still be likely to succeed

For all practical purposes, the state of Israel and the Islamic Republic of Iran are already at war. ... More

Crackdown in Cairo, excuses in Washington, Friday, Nov 18, 2011 5:00 AM,

As Egyptians return to Tahrir Square, the Obama administration sides with the military

CAIRO — Sitting across from me in a downtown cafe, disgruntled democracy activist Ismail Wahby looks defeated. “Everything is failing,” he says.

In many ways, Wahby personifies the Western stereotypes about the mislabeled “Facebook Revolution”: He is an upper-middle-class 20-something who blogs in English, French and Arabic. After the ouster of Hosni Mubarak, he worked as community organizer with the Union of Progressive Youth, one of the many revolutionary coalitions formed after the dictator’s fall. But as Egypt’s ruling Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) became more oppressive in the months that followed, Wahby grew discouraged and withdrew from political activism. “I didn’t do a revolution for this ... 60 Minutes: Are Members of Congress Trading Stocks on Inside Information? November 14, 2011 at 12:09am, CBS News

Washington, D.C. is a town that runs on inside information – but should our elected officials be able to use that information to pad their own pockets? As Steve Kroft reports, members of Congress and their aides have regular access to powerful political intelligence, and many have made well-timed stock market trades in the very industries they regulate. For now, the practice is perfectly legal, ... More

Attrition Through Enforcement Immigration Policy Works in Alabama

Proponents of illegal immigration and open borders are constantly propagating a straw-man argument for amnesty that offers false policy choices. They contend that “we cannot possibly send back the illegals without physically deporting every one of them, and therefore, we are forced to grant them amnesty, in addition to a ‘pathway to citizenship.’ Those with some sense of sanity have always realized that the source of the problem is our incentivizing of illegal behavior, and that a concerted effort to enforce the laws would drain the illegal population through “attrition by enforcement.”

Now Alabama is showing the rest of the country how we can solve the problem simply by enforcing the laws on the books, or, more accurately, performing the job that the federal government refuses to do. ... More
